Brand new burger/beer joint at Grand Traverse Mall. Sat at the bar, the bartender was very friendly and attentive for the most part. When he wasn't attentive it was to no fault of his own. It amazed me that he was tending the bar, waiter for 3 tables, and even acted as dish washer; cleaning my plate in a sink near the bar. Why would he have this much work? Especially since I saw no less than 15 employees working for lunch time. The food comes with mixed results. I ordered the BBQ bacon burger and the bartender recommended a side of the Twisted Mac and Cheese. The burger was excellent, the Mac not so much. The Macaroni came in a small bowl, with the cheese burnt to the sides. It tasted bland without much flavor. But that what happens when you microwave your food. Word of advice to servers: never recommend a dish you know is microwaved. A foodie or critic will notice immediately. I knew it was microwaved before I even tasted it. Finished my burger, the macaroni went untouched the rest of my meal.

Looking for somewhere to watch the Tigers in the playoffs on Saturday while spending the weekend in Traverse City. We initially went to BWW and they were closed due to computer outage. Stumbled on Bagger Dave's in the Mall and noticed that they had a lot of TVs to watch the game. Seeing it was pretty empty in there surprised us for a Sat night especially since the Tigers were playing we sat down. There was a table of people near us and we started talking about the game. A little while later we noticed that they were leaving and complaining that they had been waiting for their food for a long time and it really wasn't busy. Our server didn't really know what to recommend and she hadn't tried a lot of the food so we ordered and waited for a brief time. The food came and everything was cold. I never complain at restaurants, usually I just buck up and eat it but this was awful and tasted gross even and I don't think it being cold had anything to do with it. The server immediately blamed the cooks and said they were having problems all night. The manager (whom we had not seen all night came over and apologized and comped our food and we reordered something else. I wasn't looking for free food but accepted anyway. We knew why the place was so empty, the reputation must have preceded it. The bartenders weren't around much and the manager disappeared never to be seen again. He did boast increasing the business in Grand Rapids and I realize this place has just opened a month or so before it. They need to train their staff better and make sure quality is there before bringing it to the table.

Turkey burger was yummy, got it in a bowl as my nod to health. Sweet potato chips were on point. Our waiter Gabe had to put up with all of our hassling. We saw captain morgan waiting for the bus and watched some baseball. Life is good.

By far the best Tuna Melt I have ever had in my entire life. Yum. Twisted Mac and cheese was good but not a fan of the smoked cheese in it... Everyone at the table liked it.

A friend and I stopped here for a late lunch while doing some shopping, and I am so impressed! We walked in and had to wait a couple minutes to be seated (no one at hostess station), but everything else was incredible. Our server, Jessica, did a great job of explaining the menu and some of the highlights/differences on the menu. The craft sodas are awesome, and I recommend the black cherry cream soda. The tuna melt is one of the best I've had, and the twisted mac and cheese was soooo good. Strawberry cheesecake was a great end to the meal. Everything tasted really fresh, and the service made our visit to TC even better. Jessica rocks!

This place is brand new-only 2nd day open. Lots and lots of employees walking around-many in training I suspect. Greeted warmly at the door (Morganne) and asked if I like burgers... Hmmmmm, let me see-I'm at a burger joint, lol... She told me they offer 5 beef, 3 turkey and some veggie burgers. Although the numbers seem off... It was a nice enough introduction. My waitress-in-training was MORGAN and she did a great job (despite being a bit nervous). Was very interested in selling me an app (clearly being coached)... But if my burger comes with fries, why would I want fries as an app?? After reading over a varied and exhaustive menu I decided on a build-your-own burger. A simple Bacon Cheese Burger. After some more time with the menu I realized I could've ordered the Great American and added Bacon (would've been cheaper)! Fries were hot and crispy, fresh from the grease (YUM!) and the burger was tasty overall. However, when I'm staring at a double cheeseburger, piled high and stacked with crispy bacon, on a toasted Buffalo Spiced Bun... And you give me a dull butter knife that only squishes my burger into oblivion? DETAILS! This isn't an airport, give me something that can cut a burger in half!! My waitress informed the manager, and he shrugged, laughed and walked off... You should've come to my table and talked to someone who was really interested in helping your restaurant. If you don't care about customers... As I walked out the hostess Morganne said, "Goodbye, have a Great Day"! The manager standing next to her looked up, looked at me, and went back to whatever he was doing-no acknowledgement at all. This should be 1-2 Stars because of lazy managers. However... Food was good, prices were reasonable, and service was very good. So 3 stars... Which will undoubtedly go up!

I came here yesterday with my Boyfriend. First off I love how they're SO Michigan loving at this place I love that nothing is frozen so they don't use microwaves. Needless to say I was pretty excited to try this place. The atmosphere was nice and welcoming. Enjoyed the selection of burgers, as well and a "build your own" burger option. The restaurant is very clean with excellent service. The Burger I had literally melted in my mouth one of the best burgers I've ever had. By far better than any other casual burger chain restaurant out there.

Went back with my husband to try Bagger Dave's again, it was a great experience. Claire was it server, She was very knowledgeable and very attentive. She answered all of our questions and was very sweet. My husband was able to order his custom-designed burger medium, which the burgers there can be ordered medium or medium-well. Last time we were there, it came out too done for his liking, making me think the burgers were not cooked to order. His burger came out more medium-well, which he actually prefers. My Italian beef sandwich was excellent, and the hand-cut fries are amazing. They do not have Coke or Pepsi, they have a local company that they have supply their cola, which the cola and Orange are very, very sweet. Love the train inside the restaurant ad well as the historical pictures of Traverse City.

I love BD's down in Grand Rapids and these guys are almost on par with those locations even though they haven't been open as long. The service was excellent and I noticed they've scrapped the idea of having customers write their orders on the pre-printed sheets of paper...probably a good idea. My only issue with this experience is that I ordered my burger "medium rare" and it came out at best medium well to well done. It was still tasty, but not what I wanted so I was a little disappointed. For a joint that is going to live and die by its burgers you'd think they would make the quality more of a focus. I hope they address this ASAP! Overall, they are close to being the BD's I know and love! Hopefully it was just a freak accident that my burger was overdone. I'll definitely be back to try again!

Normal chain restaurant food. Nothing special, about what a $5 hamburger should taste like. Wait staff is also pretty standard. Been here twice and one waiter was decent and quick the other was slow and uninterested. If you're in the Grand Traverse Mall, where this one is located, and don't feel like driving downtown to a nicer or tastier restaurant or if you don't feel like eating at the Taco Bell in the food court, I suppose this place will do.

Really enjoy their BEEF burgers, but I was there yesterday and had the CHICKEN burger and was SICK immediately after...maybe it was just that one cuz it tasted great but the after effects were not worth it, plus its way expensive for what you get I feel..

It was okay. Nachos were okay. Isabella was our server and she was awesome. Got the blue cheese burger on a pretzel bun. It was OK too. Love the atmosphere. Also has cool out door seating.

Normally I am not one to sit and write out a complaint, I would more than likely never come back to this restaurant. This was my first experience at Bagger Dave's and to say the least it was horrible. From the moment we got seated our waitress was new and training (we didn't find this out until our meal was over) No one was shadowing her making sure she was doing her job correctly. We were a group of 4 and a baby that came in early on a Saturday evening, the restaurant was not busy at all. When ordering our drinks we asked if we could put in an order of fries or if they had applesauce for the baby in our group because she was getting fussy. We got our drinks, and no word on this order or fries or anything for the baby, what seemed about 15-20 mins later while we were waiting for our food, a manager came up and asked if everything was alright, he probably could see the looks of disapointment on our faces. We told him about order fries or applesauce (when we ordered drinks) for the baby and he said he would be right back with something for her, when our waitress was coming out with our food the manager returned with a plastic container of applesauce for the baby. I have no idea why the waitress didn't just go back and get one of those containers when we orginally asked but it was very frustrating, especiallly because all of our food was barely warm when she brought it to our table. Now you might think that I am over reacting and this is typacially normal for some restaurants, however, when our waitress brought out our bills she gave us the wrong bills, we switched at the table and didn't think much of it. My husband gave his visa card to charge our bill to and our waitress came by and took our bill only (the others in our party were not ready) the manager came back to our table stating that she had made a mistake and charged our card for the other couples bill, he said he voided it out and then recharged our card for the correct amt. (the difference in prices of bills was around $10) the manager Travis assured us that the additional charge that he voided out should just drop out of our account and we should have that money back by Wednesday, he gave us his business card incase we had any problems, but now its Wednesday and the charge is still in my account. I called and spoke with the manager and he said that it could take 5 business days for the charge to disappear from our account. He never once said this on Saturday when speaking with us about the mistake they had made, he only assured us that no matter what Wednesday we should have it in our account. I used to work in customer service and had to deal with problems like this all the time, and if there was a chance that it could take up to 5 business days for our money to return to our account then the manager should have said that. I am sure this is not the first time he has delt with something like this, overal I am very disapointed with the service of this establishment. I plan on emailing their corporate offices as well just to let them know my experience.
